Icon Audio an introduction

As a traditional company located in Leicester, UK. We are devoted to the development and manufacture of valve amplification and associated hifi equipment such as speakers, headphone amps and phono stages.

Our philosophy in this "throw away" world with cheap nasty products is to create amplifiers and speakers that sound good, look good, are easily affordable and will last a lifetime. OK, so you may have to replace the odd valve, but in our amplifiers everything is replaceable right down to the transformers.

We are not anti-digital or solid state, but believe as many others do that a good analogue signal through a good thermonic valve amplifier still has a great deal to offer in terms of sound quality, flexibility and upgrading...

Icon Audio new showroom

It has been a hectic time for Icon Audio with many pressures mainly involving the build of our new showroom/listening room. We will soon be able to properly showcase our equipment in a fully dedicated listening environment, which will enable you to make the best choices for your future audio pleasure. Whilst this is nearing completion and taken much in time and resource, it has not detracted from our constant evolution of Icon Audio amplifers.

MFV Bookshelf Speakers

The vast majority of hi fi speakers available today are made for powerful transistor amplifiers, which are often very power hungry and can be a difficult load to drive for valve amplifiers. This is especially true of smaller stand mount and bookshelf speakers where huge amounts of midrange and treble are “dumped” in order to increase the relative bass output. We now offer a range of specially designed bookshelf speakers to compliment our amplifiers (click).

Kingsound Panels

Further extending our reach into the audio world we now have a whole new line of electrostatic loudspeakers. We believe these to compliment our amplifiers beautifully so if you are a panel lover, see the range at www.kingsaudio.com.hk .

Icon Valve Amplifiers (the difference)

Whilst we make no secret of the fact that our amplifiers are made in China (like several of our competitors e.g. QUAD Prima Luna etc). Our amplifiers are not just a branded OEM product but the result of a lot work here in Leicester to achieve the performance, sound and quality which results in our amplifiers being so highly regarded.

It has come to our attention that some unscrupulous dealers (usually on the internet) who are buying similar looking cheaper amplifiers and trying to pass them off as being the same as Icon Audio products. Don't be fooled, these amplifiers will definitely not have the performance that has won us awards and rave reviews that you have read about, and whether buying from Hong Kong or some anonymous dealer will not have the same established excellent back up service that you can read about in our customer feedback.
